I'm freezing here!!

The clock is showing 12.27 am and I still can't sleep. Why? Because my room is very cold. Yup, the heater is not working and I'm freezing here. I'm now wearing a long sleeve shirt and sweater, trousers, and socks. But I'm still shivering from the cold. Have I ever said that I really don't know how the heater works in our house? We can never predict when and how long the heater is on. Sometimes it is on at 7 am when I'm about to go the campus instead of at 10 pm when I'm busy writing my essay in my room. I also don't know how to set the temperature. The indicator in the heater's knob is so unclear and not giving any direction in lowering or increasing the temperature. So, I just turned it on to the right and to the left without knowing how that will affect the temperature. But today, the heater has not been working since this afternoon. I don't know why but maybe the heater wants to take a day off. Well, I know that I have to deal with low temperature and cold wind during the winter here in the UK, but at least I expect comfort when I'm in my room. I hope that I can sleep very soon after this and wake up tomorrow morning with my heater on. Please!!
